Description: Banana Bread Brownies are a delicious fusion of two classic desserts – moist, banana bread and rich, fudgy brownies. The result is a unique treat with the sweet, fruity flavor of banana and the indulgent texture of brownies. This easy-to-make dessert is perfect for using up overripe bananas and will satisfy your craving for something sweet, chewy, and comforting. Great for breakfast, snacks, or dessert!

Ingredients:

  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional, for extra flavor)
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional, for extra sweetness)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8×8-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the Wet Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth. Add the melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract to the mashed bananas. Stir everything together until well combined.
  3. Mix the Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon (if using). Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until fully incorporated.
  4. Add Chocolate Chips (optional): If using, fold in the chocolate chips for added sweetness and texture.
  5. Bake the Brownies: Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (but not wet batter). The top should look slightly cracked and set.
  6. Cool and Serve: Allow the Banana Bread Brownies to cool completely in the pan before cutting them into squares. Enjoy!

Tips & Tricks:

  • Make sure your bananas are very ripe for the best flavor. Overripe bananas are perfect for this recipe!
  • For extra texture, you can add chopped nuts (such as walnuts or pecans) into the batter.
  • If you prefer a more cake-like texture, you can bake the batter in a 9×9-inch pan, but reduce the baking time slightly.
  • You can use whole wheat flour for a slightly healthier twist, but the texture might be a bit denser.
  • If you want to make these brownies extra decadent, top them with a drizzle of melted chocolate or a scoop of ice cream.
