- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven: Preheat to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×9-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
- Mix wet ingredients:
- In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter and brown sugar until smooth.
- Add the egg, vanilla extract, and mashed bananas, mixing until well combined.
- Combine dry ingredients:
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Add chocolate chips:
- Fold in the chocolate chips, reserving a handful for sprinkling on top.
- Bake:
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly. Sprinkle the reserved chocolate chips over the top.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool and serve:
- Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan before slicing into squares. Enjoy warm or at room temperature.
