Cinnamon Sugar Donut Sweet Bread

This Cinnamon Sugar Donut Sweet Bread is a moist, fluffy loaf with a sweet cinnamon flavor and a sugary topping that tastes just like a donut! Perfect for breakfast, dessert, or a sweet snack, this bread is easy to make and pairs perfectly with coffee or tea.


Ingredients:
For the Bread:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup whole milk (or buttermilk for tanginess)
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

For the Cinnamon Sugar Topping:

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Cream the Butter and Sugar: In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. Mix the Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon.
  4. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
  5. Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.
  6. Add the Topping: While the bread is still warm, brush the top with melted butter. Mix the cinnamon and sugar for the topping in a small bowl, then sprinkle generously over the bread.
  7. Serve: Slice and enjoy the sweet, cinnamon-flavored goodness with your favorite beverage.
