Croissant Broodjes (Croissant Sandwiches)

These Croissant Broodjes are buttery, flaky croissants filled with a variety of delicious ingredients to make the perfect savory or sweet sandwich. Whether you want a light breakfast, a quick lunch, or a satisfying snack, these croissant sandwiches are the way to go!


Ingredients:

For the Croissant Sandwiches:

  • 4 large croissants (store-bought or homemade)
  • 8 slices deli meat (like ham, turkey, or chicken)
  • 4 slices cheese (such as Swiss, cheddar, or gouda)
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (optional)
  • Fresh lettuce leaves
  • Tomato slices (optional)
  • Pickles (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven: If you’re warming up your croissants, preheat the oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Slice the croissants in half lengthwise.
  2. Prepare the Sandwich Filling: If desired, spread a thin layer of mayonnaise and Dijon mustard on the inside of each croissant half. This adds extra flavor and creaminess.
  3. Assemble the Sandwiches:
    • Place a slice of cheese on the bottom half of each croissant.
    • Layer with slices of deli meat (ham, turkey, or chicken).
    • Add fresh lettuce, tomato slices, and pickles if desired.
    • Close the croissant with the top half.
  4. Warm the Sandwiches (optional): To melt the cheese and warm up the croissants, place the assembled sandwiches on a baking sheet and bake for about 5-7 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the cheese melts and the croissants are slightly crispy.
  5. Serve: Once warm, slice the croissant sandwiches in half and serve immediately. Enjoy as a quick breakfast, lunch, or snack!
