These Nutella French Toast Roll-Ups are a fun and delicious twist on classic French toast! Creamy Nutella-filled bread rolled up, dipped in cinnamon sugar, and cooked to golden perfection. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a sweet snack!
Ingredients
- 8 slices white sandwich bread, crusts removed
- ½ cup Nutella (or other chocolate-hazelnut spread)
- 2 large eggs
- 3 tbsp milk
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, for frying
Instructions
- Prepare the Bread Rolls:
- Flatten each slice of bread with a rolling pin. Spread about 1 tablespoon of Nutella on one side of each slice. Roll tightly into a log.
- Make the Coating:
- In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs and milk. In a separate bowl, mix granulated sugar and cinnamon.
- Cook the Roll-Ups:
- Heat butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Dip each roll-up into the egg mixture, ensuring it’s fully coated. Place in the skillet and cook for 2–3 minutes per side, turning until all sides are golden brown.
- Add Cinnamon-Sugar Coating:
- Remove from the skillet and immediately roll the warm roll-ups in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until fully coated.
- Serve:
- Serve warm with optional toppings like whipped cream, powdered sugar, or fresh berries.
Notes
- Substitute Nutella with peanut butter, cream cheese, or fruit preserves for variety.
- Best served fresh, but leftovers can be reheated in a skillet or air fryer to regain crispiness.
- Perfect for kids and brunch parties, and pairs wonderfully with a drizzle of syrup or honey.
