These Nutella French Toast Roll-Ups are a delightful twist on classic French toast! Soft bread rolled with creamy Nutella, dipped in cinnamon-sugar goodness, and fried to golden perfection. Perfect for breakfast or a sweet treat!
Ingredients
- 8 slices white sandwich bread, crusts removed
- ½ cup Nutella (or any chocolate-hazelnut spread)
- 2 large eggs
- 3 tbsp milk
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter (for frying)
Instructions
- Prepare the Bread Rolls:
- Flatten each slice of bread with a rolling pin. Spread a thin layer of Nutella on one side of each slice. Roll tightly into logs and set aside.
- Make the Coating:
- In a shallow dish, whisk together the eggs and milk. In a separate dish, mix the sugar and cinnamon.
- Cook the Roll-Ups:
- Heat butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Dip each roll-up into the egg mixture, ensuring it’s fully coated, and place in the skillet.
- Cook for 2–3 minutes per side, turning until golden brown on all sides.
- Add the Cinnamon-Sugar:
- Remove the roll-ups from the skillet and immediately roll them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Serve:
- Serve warm with a drizzle of syrup, whipped cream, or fresh berries for garnish.
Notes
- For variety, try filling with peanut butter, cream cheese, or fruit jam instead of Nutella.
- Best enjoyed fresh, but you can reheat them in a skillet or air fryer to regain crispiness.
- Perfect for kids’ breakfasts, brunch parties, or as a sweet snack!
