Oreo Dirt Cake is a fun and decadent dessert that’s perfect for all ages! Made with layers of crushed Oreos, creamy vanilla pudding, and whipped topping, this dessert resembles dirt and is often decorated with gummy worms for an extra playful touch. It’s easy to make, no-bake, and always a crowd-pleaser at parties, picnics, or family gatherings.
Ingredients:
- 1 package (14.3 oz) Oreo cookies
- 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 package (3.4 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
- 2 1/2 cups cold milk
- 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping (like Cool Whip)
- Gummy worms (optional, for decoration)
Instructions:
- Crush the Oreos:
- Place the Oreo cookies into a large plastic bag and use a rolling pin to crush them into small chunks. Alternatively, you can pulse them in a food processor until finely crushed, leaving some larger pieces for texture.
- Set aside about 1 cup of the crushed Oreos for the top layer and the decoration.
- Prepare the Cream Cheese Layer:
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and butter until smooth and creamy.
- Gradually add the powdered sugar and continue to beat until fully combined.
- Make the Pudding Mixture:
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and cold milk. Stir for about 2 minutes until the pudding thickens.
- Add the pudding mixture to the cream cheese and butter mixture. Stir until everything is well combined.
- Add the Whipped Topping:
- Gently fold the whipped topping into the pudding mixture. Mix until smooth and creamy.
- Layer the Cake:
- In a 9×13-inch baking dish, spread half of the pudding mixture as the first layer.
- Add a layer of the crushed Oreos over the pudding mixture (about half of the crushed Oreos).
- Repeat the process with the remaining pudding mixture and crushed Oreos, creating another layer.
- Top and Decorate:
- Sprinkle the reserved 1 cup of crushed Oreos on top to create the “dirt” layer.
- For an added fun touch, place gummy worms on top, sticking them into the “dirt” to resemble worms.
- Chill:
- Refrigerate the Oreo Dirt Cake for at least 3 hours or overnight to allow the layers to set and the flavors to meld.
