This Sticky Bun Breakfast Ring is irresistibly gooey, buttery, and packed with sweet cinnamon flavor. With a mix of brown sugar, nuts, and syrup, it’s a quick and easy treat that’s perfect for breakfast or brunch!
Ingredients
- 2 small tubes refrigerated buttermilk biscuits OR 1 tube Pillsbury Grands buttermilk biscuits
- 3 tablespoons butter, melted
- ½ cup pancake syrup
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- ⅓ cup packed light brown sugar
- ¼ cup chopped pecans (optional)
- ¼ cup chopped almonds (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). If using an older pan, lightly grease the sides to prevent sticking.
- Prepare the Syrup Mixture:
- In a bowl, combine the melted butter and pancake syrup. Pour half of this mixture into the bottom of a baking pan or bundt pan.
- Prepare the Sugar-Nut Topping:
- In another bowl, mix together the brown sugar, cinnamon, and chopped nuts (if using). Sprinkle half of the sugar-nut mixture over the syrup layer in the pan.
- Arrange the Biscuits:
- Place the biscuits in a circular pattern in the pan, ensuring they fit snugly without leaving empty spaces.
- Top with Syrup and Sugar Mixture:
- Pour the remaining butter-syrup mixture over the biscuits. Sprinkle the remaining sugar-nut mixture evenly on top.
- Bake:
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until the top is golden and the biscuits are cooked through. Be careful not to overbake—look for a golden, lightly crispy crust.
- Cool and Serve:
- Let the sticky bun ring cool for a couple of minutes before carefully inverting it onto a serving plate. Serve warm and enjoy the gooey, sweet perfection!
Notes
- Greasing Tip: Lightly grease the pan sides to prevent the biscuits from sticking, especially if using an older baking pan.
- Shape: A bundt pan creates a beautiful ring shape, but other baking pans work too.
- Don’t Overbake: Keep an eye on the crust—it should be golden and slightly crisp, not overly dark.
