Description: These frosted sugar cookies are soft, buttery, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious! Topped with creamy pink frosting and festive sprinkles, they’re the perfect sweet treat to celebrate Valentine’s Day with loved ones.
Ingredients
For the Cookies:
- 2 3/4 cups (345g) all-purpose flour
- 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp almond extract
For the Frosting:
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups (240g) powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp (30ml) milk
- Pink food coloring
- Valentine’s Day sprinkles

Instructions
Make the Cookies:
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg, vanilla, and almond extract.
- Add Dry Ingredients: Gradually mix in the flour and a pinch of salt until a soft dough forms.
- Shape the Cookies: Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheets. Gently flatten each ball with the bottom of a glass.
- Bake: Bake for 8–10 minutes, or until the edges are just set (do not overbake). Let cool completely on a wire rack.
Make the Frosting:
- Cream Butter: In a bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy. Gradually mix in powdered sugar. Add milk and a few drops of pink food coloring until desired consistency and color are achieved.
- Frost the Cookies: Spread the frosting over the cooled cookies and top with Valentine’s Day sprinkles.
Tips
- Chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking if it’s too soft to handle.
- For a fun twist, use heart-shaped cookie cutters instead of rolling dough into balls.
- Store cookies in an airtight container for up to 5 days or freeze for later enjoyment.
