Ingredients:
- 6 large egg yolks
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup mascarpone cheese (room temperature)

- 1 cup strong brewed coffee (cooled)
- 1/4 cup coffee liqueur (optional, such as Kahlúa)
- 1 package ladyfingers (about 24 pieces)
- Cocoa powder (for dusting)

Instructions:
Prepare the Mascarpone Cream:
- Whisk Egg Yolks and Sugar: In a heatproof bowl, whisk the egg yolks and sugar together until smooth. Place the bowl over a pot of simmering water (double boiler method) and whisk constantly for about 5-7 minutes, until the mixture is pale and slightly thickened. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.
- Blend in Mascarpone: Once the egg mixture has cooled, fold in the mascarpone cheese using a spatula. Stir until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
- Whip the Cream: In a separate bowl, use an electric mixer to whip the heavy cream and vanilla extract until soft peaks form. Be careful not to overwhip.

- Prepare the Coffee Mixture: In a shallow dish, combine the cooled brewed coffee and coffee liqueur (if using).
- Dip the Ladyfingers: Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture for 1-2 seconds – don’t soak them too long, or they’ll become too soggy. Arrange a layer of dipped ladyfingers at the bottom of a 9×13-inch dish or a similar-sized serving dish.
- Layer with Cream: Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers, smoothing it out with a spatula.
- Repeat the Layers: Add another layer of dipped ladyfingers on top of the mascarpone mixture. Spread the remaining mascarpone cream evenly over the top.
Chill the Tiramisu:
- Refrigerate: Cover the tiramisu with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld and the dessert to set.
Garnish and Serve:
